Hard Candy Cases Bubble Sleeve for Apple iPad - Black

I had read review after review saying this was a great case except for the glue issue, so when I read that the company had fixed the issue and was providing support for the inferior units still in the wild I decided to go ahead and order it. I've returned many items to Amazon without a single issue so why not?

I'm glad to say that what I received was a great product, with velcro feet and is in fact a great case, fitting the iPad perfectly (this isn't some rehashed netbook case like some companies are selling) and providing excellent protection.

Some people might think the bubbles on the outside look odd. I think they look cool. Regardless, they do provide an added layer of protection and that's why you're buying the case, right?

I bought 23 cents worth of elastic and glued two 3-inch strips behind where the iPad sits. I use this to secure a microfiber cloth (an eyeglass cleaning cloth I got for a dollar) that now sites behind the iPad in the case. Any time it gets a little smudgy I have a wipe handy.

The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it fits the iPad so well there's very little room for anything else. Even my little "elastic and a paper-thin cloth" hack pushed the limits of the case's capacity. I've yet to fit a pair of ear buds and I'd love to be able to. It would be great if the design of the case accounted for this, with perhaps a little pocket on the outside.

Bottom Line:
If you're looking for a case that fits the iPad perfectly and is as stylish as it is secure, there's not a better case out there. If you require a case that will hold a little bit more than just the iPad this one may or may not meet your needs. A little ingenuity (and some super glue) goes a long way though.

Hard Candy Cases Street Skin for Apple iPad - Black

I ordered this case a week ago before they sold out. My iPad 3G arrived yesterday and this case fits like a glove. I originally ordered the official apple case 1 month ago BUT I noticed that the back of the case was made of cloth and would not provide enough protection if I accidentally dropped it. I found this case at the hard candy case website and was surprised that amazon actually had some in stock.

This case is made out of flexible thick plastic that provides excellent protection. The screen protector is made out of the same material and provides maximum protection for your screen. The grooves in the case gives you extra grip so the iPad cannot easily slip out of your hand.

The main reason I choose this case is because the screen protector is removable and easily stores on the back of the case. My original apple case opened like a book but the flap of the case interfered with my ability to get a good grip while using the iPad.

UPDATE!!...............I still like this case BUT it makes my iPad feel a bit heavy(bulky) AND the detachable cover seemed like a good idea but I eventually stopped using the cover because I didn't want to carry it around with me. I now use a "Casecrown Canvas Flip Stand Case", my new case is a BETTER version of the official apple iPad case. You can find them on amazon, they have a vertical and horizontal version of the same case and they are available in black, gray or purple.

Macally BOOKSTAND Protective Case and Stand for iPad

After only a few weeks this case has started to fall apart after normal use (by normal use, I mean that I baby the iPad)! The glue that holds the microfiber cover onto the plastic shell started to come loose. At first it looked like little bubbles under the microfiber but now nearly the whole back cover is separated from the shell. This makes me worried that it will slip and cause me to drop the iPad. Suspecting that I may just have a defective product, I searched online and to my surprise there are others with this problem. Amazon doesn't allow links but it's easy to find the discussion boards I found.

I will once again revisit this review if I receive a replacement BOOKSTAND case that doesn't exhibit these same problems. Otherwise, check my reviews to see if I have found decent a folio case for my iPad.

This is the second problem I have had with Macally in purchasing this case. I originally ordered it from the Macally website because it was "In Stock" only to find out a week later that it wasn't in stock and my order was automatically canceled. It was frustrating at the time but it would have saved me a lot of trouble if I had moved on to another case!

CaseCrown Genuine Leather Horizontal Flip iPad Case (Black) for the Apple iPad

The slippery iPad needs a case. At first, I purchased the polycarbonate one. I ordered this leather one just to see what it would be like. I thought that I could always return it if I did not like it or if it was not a quality item.

This case is great. The fit is great and it does not detract from the quality iPad. I like it better than the poly-carbon one because it offers more protection and is perfect to carry the iPad around. If you are going to carry the iPad in a briefcase, then that may be another matter and you may prefer the poly-carbon one. I have found that I carry the iPad only - like for example to a Dr. appointment or business lunch meeting, this case is just the thing.

For business, I find the iPad less "geeky" than plopping down a laptop at a lunch appointment. The iPad is much like a big iPhone. Great to show a client a picture or data sheet or chart. A laptop, well, is just more "there" and in the client's face than the iPad. This leather case is perfect thing to carry into a client meeting and I don't have to worry as much about the slippery iPad and someone dropping it when I hand it to them.

For $20, it is a great value and the quality is outstanding. Very classy.

Premium Black Thick Soft Gel Silicone Skin for Apple iPad

I ordered this case the day after I received my iPad. I got the case in the mail today and I must say that I'm very dissatisfied. First and foremost the case does not fit well at all. I believe that whoever designed it did not account for the contoured back of the iPad, and therefore when the case is put on, the front sides pull back away from the screen leaving a quarter inch gap on all four sides. The corners fit well, and the buttons are all well protected, but the portion that fits over the black border on the front sticks up and dust or debris will definitely get caught underneath.

Second, the picture shows a cutout on the back where the Apple logo would show through. The case I received does not have that cutout. Had the cutout been there the case might fit better as it wouldn't have to stretch as much to cover the contoured back of the iPad.

Third is the fact that this thing smells really bad! I've purchased vinyl products before that had an odor, but this one is terrible. I had it sitting in the other room and when a breeze came through the house I could distinctly smell the funky rubber smell.

Do yourself a favor and purchase a different case. The price may seem right, but it is a really good example of "you get what you pay for"...

Marware Eco-Vue for iPad

I received this case a few days ago. It's very sturdy and has convenient features; I'm quite clumsy at times, and the hand strap in the back has made it very easy to hold with confidence. The leather is very nice and definitely not cheap looking, while the microfiber interior makes it very comfortable to hold. The edges also appear to be slightly reinforced, and would likely protect the iPad from the occasional fall (of course, I'm not about to test that theory!).

A note on magnets:
I use this with the iPad WiFi + 3G. Another reviewer mentioned problems with the magnet inside, which is used to hold the integrated stand, and recommended that this case be used only with the WiFi version of the iPad. First, a clarification: both iPads have a built-in compass, so if using the compass is extremely important to you, don't buy this case. While the magnet does interfere with the magnetometer, it does NOT interfere with the AGPS, data transmission, or cause damage to the iPad or any of its components. The iPad uses flash memory, not a traditional magnetic hard drive, so your data will be perfectly safe.

Acase Deluxe Leather multi-view Case/Folio with Stand for Apple iPad

"New and Improved" is usually just a marketing slogan. In this case, though, the new product really is an improvement over most of the first wave of iPad cases I've seen. I've been shopping for an iPad case for weeks. The cases I found either had a fatal design flaw, or were insanely expensive, or were out of stock. This case is exactly what I've been looking for. Here's what I like about it:

- The cut of the case is excellent. 100% of the screen is visible and all controls are easily accessible. There are cutouts for the light sensor and speakers. Everything lines up perfectly, unlike some of the first generation cases. You can charge the iPad easily without removing it from the case.

- There's a retaining strap on the open end of the case to keep the iPad from falling out (another problem with some 1st gen cases). I wish it grabbed more of the corner of the iPad, but they made the strap as big as they could without interfering with the on/off switch and screen rotation-lock button.

- The "easel" feature allows you to prop up the iPad in landscape mode at various angles, so you can choose the angle that minimizes screen glare. The easel uses a simple step design that is adjustable over a good range, giving it an advantage over some of the magnetic designs I looked at. The easel flap has a magnet to keep it in place when the pad is closed; I was a bit worried about carrying something with a magnet in my briefcase, but I figured that if it doesn't mess with the iPad, then it shouldn't mess with my laptop (I hope).

- The case folds over and covers and protects the iPad screen in transit. For my purposes, this is better than "skins" that only cover the back of the iPad. This case protects the screen and keeps it from collecting big palm prints in transit.

- The faux leather seems to be decent quality (as faux leather goes), and the stitching looks very even. The case comes with an iPad-sized foam pad inserted for shipping, so that the case arrives in excellent shape, rather than mangled. The case is very lightweight. It feels like it has just enough padding to protect the iPad from desk-height falls. I doubt that it will last as long as an expensive leather case, but it feels like it will last for the life of the iPad.

- The price is amazing. At fourteen dollars, this case is a fraction of the cost of Apple's genuine leather case. You won't confuse this case with real leather -- it's clearly synthetic leather. I was in a meeting with a senior executive recently, and he had the Apple branded case. I have to admit, it was beautiful -- a Porsche compared by my Acase. But for functional protection for my iPad, the Acase works great, and I saved about fifty bucks.
